2009 Grand Marshals
Rob & Georgina Munn
GOLD SPONSORS
Rob and Georgina Munn grew up in
Bridgeport, Ohio and graduated in the
same high school class. Rob attended
Marshall University and graduated with
a teaching degree. He then taught
school for two years at Unioto School
in Ross County. Next Rob went to
work for McDonald's Restaurants.
McDonald's is what eventually
brought the couple to Jackson.
In July of 1979, the Munn's moved
from Washington C.H., Ohio to
Jackson with their two children.
Brad who was five, and Brandi who
was two and a half. Rob was continuing
to work for McDonald's Restaurants.
In 1986 the couple purchased the
McDonalds franchise in Jackson and
have owned and operated it ever since.

Last year, the Munn's took another risk, at the Jackson site. They closed the restaurant, tore down the building, and erected in its place a handsome, modern facility. It was ninety-five long days for the Munn's while construction was underway. The new Jackson McDonald's opened last December.
It's now been thirty-five years since Rob started his affiliation with the restaurant giant.

The Munn's' children are grown. Daughter Brandi lives in Jacksonville, Florida. Son, Brad, remains in Jackson following in the McDonald's tradition. Brad and his wife, Sarah, have two daughters. Maddie who is nine, and Abbey who is seven.

As Rob and Georgina look forward to the excitement that this Apple Festival will bring, they are "highly honored" by all the attention. They are lavish in their praise of the Jaycees and the "tremendous job" they do in hosting the festival.

Rob and Georgina celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in August.
What a memberable year for them!

Rob is delighted to find festivals thriving in Oak Hill and Wellston as well as Jackson. His business always takes a hit the week a festival is running but he thinks that's a small price to pay for events that foster the kind of community pride that is healthy for all residents.
Rob and Georgina love being part of the greater Jackson County community. Look for them in the parades and tell them how glad you are they are here. It might be a full car, granddaughters Maddie and Abbey have already asked to ride along with them.

The Jackson Jaycees salutes Rob and Georgina Munn
as the Grand Marshals of the
2009 Jackson County Apple Festival !
